Ah thanks, we’re not all poncey u know and some of us are able to re-train so to speak, however, I still get told off all the time for being too ballroom! What can I say, old habits die hard!

I agree with Alun, I think other classes should be listed on this site. When I first moved here, to Barry, I used this site as a guide to know where to go and presumed there were only classes in cardiff... I’m in pontypridd every Monday and I’ve only recently learnt that I could go to one of Nathalie’s classes just up the road. I’m also in newport regularly and would have been very interetsed in doing the classes there too but had no knowledge of then. And Alun is right, it doesnt matter where the venue is if the teaching is good!

And Alun is right on another thing, most people who use this site, regularly inform others of new events, cancelled events etc etc etc so me thinks its actually the public that keep this up to date.

Alun. I’m very grateful for the information I get from you and the other forum users but it’s not exhaustive. I wish every error and change was reported but it just doesn’t always happen. And no, I don’t go to every salsa night in Cardiff but, the point is, I could if I wanted to. Any time I want to check out somewhere I haven’t been to for a while, I can.

I don’t feel any compulsion to try to gather all related information “in one place”, not least because it’s impossible. I try to be flexible, with my own edited listings, this forum, and links to relevant webpages.

I don’t think community-hall classes are necessarily poor, I just don’t want a lot of aggrieved debate about who I list and who I don’t. Anyone with any gumption can promote himself by putting his listing on the forum, getting involved in forum conversations etc.

As for the Lambada question, well, I’ll leave the answer to that as an exercise for the reader.

Speaking of lambada... there is a fellow in my office who is slightly sleazy -- not in a threatening way, just in a “yeuch” sort of way. I go to the pub on a Friday night with colleagues often enough, and he’s usually there.

After hearing that I was learning to salsa he took to telling me (when liquored up) that he loved the lambada, how great he was at it and so on. An appropriate song came on in the Great Western one night. It was so much fun to finally call his bluff! It’s not that I can do it... it’s just that I recognise it well enough to know when someone else can’t either!

Anyway, to get on topic there’s nothing stopping anyone else setting up Lambada Cardiff or Ballroom Cardiff or whatever if they feel the need. I’m also sure Hugh would be helpful enough to give them a little advice on how to get started in running a site if they needed it. I can do web stuff myself, I certainly would -- although neither of those sites would be ones I’d visit.
