Heard that lager louts had a fight on the dance floor at this club during the Salsa party last Friday, is that right? Sounds like a rough place...?

A fight can occur (If it did last Friday) in any place upon earth... they even take place in Hospitals unbelievably!!! So... one ‘ fight ’ taking place (if it did) doesn’t signify anything at all about a particular venue or Salsa night - Nothing at all!!! It simply signifies that we live in a world where a fight can take place anywhere!

What would signify that this is a ‘ ruff ’ venue, is if a fight took place almost every week; then your point would be justified!
With mentioning these kinds of things, there is always a danger that you can put people off from attending Misael’s future nights...
I think it might be better to wait to see verifiable further evidence, before making such statements / claims!!!

P.S. Where do you normally dance?

Tom D.

Yes, there was a fight last week on the dance floor - but it was just between a Salsa teacher and a dancer. It’s not a rough club. Venue is a new Sports Bar in Cardiff, check out their facebook group: (type in “Venue Cardiff” in Facebook)

Eldj, I couldn’t agree more! Arguments/fights/unnecessary politics occur in almost all walks of life! (Salsa included!)

What is not mentioned in these posts is how highly successful the evening was! So much fun was had, it was a friendly atmosphere with great teaching, dancing and entertainment!!!

I really must compliment the teachers and everyone involved in organising such a great event (unfortunately, this is often overlooked, especially when gossip gets out and tarnishes people’s reputations!) and I look forward to attending more of these parties in the future!

My - we are getting annoyed. But it seems it wasn’t just gossip though - if Tom is to be believed.
Salsa Teacher fighting with a dancer!!! It must have contributed a lot to the great atmosphere - but that’s quite acceptable I suppose???
It seems it is to Nina anyway. Priceless. I can’t believe it and have never heard anything like this before.
Certainly not a very good advert for Salsa Teachers.

This incident was less than 30 seconds duration and localised in that many/most people were unaware of it until being told of it by fellow clubbers. It was a blip in an otherwise sucessful evening with an otherwise good atmosphere. The teacher involved apologised to the audience in general as he himself does not think it was acceptable behaviour, and personally apologised by phone to many people the next day. My understanding was he was protecting a female dancer.

Vicky

Which Salsa teacher was it fighting? Thanks

A Dancer

It was Misael fighting with one of the male dancers. (Not sure I’ve spelt his name right?)

Yes, I know, not a good advert for Salsa teachers, but I’m sure it’s the first time it’s happened in Cardiff, at least I’ve never heard of it before anyway and I’ve been going to different classes on and off over the past 10 years, both in and outside Cardiff.

Actually, it was another salsa teacher from outside of Wales that started the whole ordeal. Misael made sure that the guests at the party were ok, got the other teacher escorted off the premises and was very dignified in the way he dealt with the whole situation.

It was a real shame that it happened, and, to echo John W, not many people were aware of the situation until others mentioned it, and an apology was made at the event.
