Monday 29th June in Jesters, Bristol.
At last in Bristol: quality live music with ambience tailored to match!
The Cuban Night combines a top class Havana band, Cuban food and cocktails interpreted by one of the West’s finest chefs, a cigar terrace, and a comfortable stylish venue with table seating around the stage.
Music by Son del Tropico, on their first UK visit, and only date outside London. A nine-piece Sonora rich in trumpets and percussion, composed of veterans of some of Cuba’s most historic ensembles.
The band is led by Cuba’s finest exponent of the tropical electric guitar, Peruchin Junior, and includes a great old-style showman of a bolero singer. Direct from their residence at the Taberna del Benny in Havana.
Food by Chris Wicks, of Bells Diner and One Thirty, one of the West’s most creative and successful chefs. Interpreting the island’s Spanish based Criollo cuisine, Chris will offer an interesting new take on Cuban food, via a special Twisted Cuban menu at £7-50 a dish. Nuevo Latino cuisine is very rare in the UK: this is a food event not to miss. Innovative cocktail bar and Cuban Cristal beer.
