Hey All,
I regret to have to inform you folks that the Culto venue is no more and will be closing its doors for good. (We are told Friday the 5th June will be its last day open). Like a lot of venues, bars and clubs in the Cardiff town centre it has been suffering from the recession and it is no longer financially viable for them to keep the venue running. Another one bites the dust...
It’s a shame as the management there were a very lovely bunch and were very supportive of and understanding of the salsa scene in Cardiff. Providing all of us in Cardiff with a lovely venue, great floor and more salsa dance night and class options as well as giving us that great Moe Flex night, and what should have been a great live band night had the venue only been big enough to accomodate everyone that wanted to come!
For us at Salsa Buena our regular Wednesday nights there had really started to kick off, and its thanks to the support and understanding of the management there that I was able to implement ‘why wait till late’. We had a lovely night there last Wednesday, with a lovely class full of people (now transferring to our Tuesdays!) and a great bunch of you turning up for dancing... (albeit most of you piled in at around 10.30pm... why wait till late folks!!! Lol).
On a more postive note, our Tuesday nights are safe and secure and grow from strength to strength, this has proven to be a very busy and popular night for us (we recently had to move from our previous Tuesday venue cos we ran out of space there as we couldn’t accomodate everyone that wanted to come to our classes!). The new bigger Tuesday Latino venue has proved a huge hit, as has our ‘why wait till late’ system!
And I still don’t know who the mystery person is that left a thank you card on my windscreen thanking us for a great Tuesday class and dance night! :-)
