Well, what an awesome few weeks it has been settling into our great new venue...
If you don’t know what the fuss is about guys, the venue has become for us and for a lot of people one of the best and busiest salsa class and dance nights! But you don’t have to take my word for it... come see for yourself!!!
Here’s some updates :
In anticipation of the hot weather Every Tuesday upstairs in the function room where we teach the classes there will now be an air con unit keeping us nice and cool!! (the extractor fans built into the ceiling only did an average job!).
The food in Las Havanas is superb and its now buy one get one free on tapas open to all, regardless of whether you have done classes or not!
Yes it’s true the venue has a completely glass front that opens up, giving us superb summer salsa dance nights out, combined with the great music and atmosphere... it really does feel like you are dancing on the continent or South America!
Our wait till late system has been a huge success, and it has given rise to the common question we get asked... ‘ If coming just to dance what is the best time to turn up’?
Ok... here’s the deal... after the beginners class has finished (Around 8.40pm) the floor tends to fill up with our beginners, drinking, mingling, dancing and practising there steps.
After the improver/Intermediate class has finished (around 9.40pm), the dance night really kicks off as not only do our improver and intermediates come down and join the beginners on the dance floor but that’s also when dancers from all over Cardiff start turning up to enjoy the night. So you could argue that the ‘peak dancing’ all kicks off around 9.45pm. But just remember you are welcome to come hit the dancefloor from 8.30pm!!!
Also, due to popular demand, starting from July the last Tuesday of every month the second class (8.30pm) will be an all levels Bachata class. Bachata class will consist of a run through the basics (each month) for those completely new to Bachata and then on to a lovely new complete routine each month.
Finally... we have been getting asked a lot as to when and where our next new fabulous night will be. All we can say at the moment is discussions are taking place... we are very excited, and watch this space!! We are not saying any more than that!!! Don’t want to jinx it!!!
