It’s Magic!
This month we have Femi Otukoya and Livvy travelling 360 miles to entertain you.
Femi and Livvy can be seen all over the UK teaching and performing at all the large events so many of you will already know them for their fun, friendly and enthusiastic approach. Having spoken with Femi I would like to pass on a qoute, ‘ My lessons are full of fun and everyone enjoys them where ever we go, just give me the microphone and I will entertain your crowd;you can go and put your feet up!’ I feel asured that coupled with their pedigree I can trust them to ensure you have a good night. We are pleased to have them here in Bristol for the first time!
Femi and Livvy will be giving a Merengue lesson and a Salsa lesson, both of which will include tricks. Apparently, they show a few different tricks to the crowd and then take a vote on which ones people want to be taught! Not many teachers teach tricks for several reasons so this is a good opportunity to add something to your dance repertoire. Femi assures me that his lessons are safe for all but if you are suffering from any injury you should raise this with them before you start the lesson to see if it is suitable for you. Likewise you must be of Improver/Intermediate standard to attend these classes.
Later in the evening they will be performing their RnB salsa show, ‘Rock the Boat’. You can bet your bottom dollar there will be a few dips and tricks included in that!
This month we have also hired John and Shanon from Salsamojo to come and teach our beginners. John will also be playing the music for the night in the Somerdale room. We look forward to hearing his salsa flavour!
If you are a ‘Newbie’ to Salsa and want to learn or go over the basic steps such as how to; mambo, rumba, back step, dance in partner hold and do walk turns as well as learning the odd ‘shine’ then Anri Adachi will be taking two lessons in the chill room. If Anri is not required to teach ‘Newbie’ lessons she will be happy to give a ladies styling class.
Tiny Tim will be playing your music in the Carter room for the evening and he already has a couple of red hot new tracks sorted for this night. You do not need me to tell you that Tim will keep the dance floor packed right up until the the very last track with Salsa, Bachata and the odd Cha Cha Cha!
Every now and then Frys allows us to issue passes for entry to their staff shop where you can buy chocolate at staff prices and this is one of those months! So for the first 100 people who want them, just ask Kate on the front desk. However be warned, they must be used the following week and weight gain is inevitable!
