Salsa classes from 7.30pm to 10.30pm and then dancing till late with the very best in salsa, bachata, merengue, reggaeton with DJ’s Adry and Shalim. Drinks promotion on cocktails for the launch night.

Salsa Classes will be taught by Shahid and his newest partner, introducing the latest and one of the most highly qualified teachers to date : Leann James.

Leann : International Dance Teachers Association trained (IDTA), winner of various titles (too numerous to mention here!) in Latin American and Disco. Performed and starred in theatre productions of 42nd St, and variety shows for tap, jazz and ballet. IDTA passes and performances at the highest levels - Presidents Award and Blue Ribbon in everything from, Cha-Cha, Jive, Paso Doble, Rumba, Samba to Disco dancing! (and if all that is not enough she is also a fully qualified personal fitness trainer!) etc etc etc! Her salsa specialities include awesome ladies styling!

Beginners : 7.30pm
Improvers : 8.30pm
Intermediate : 9.30pm

£4.50 for any one class
£5.50 for Beginners & Improvers class.
£6.50 for Improvers & Intermediate or all 3 classes.

NUS £1 off everything. (Please show full membership NUS card).

Followed by dancing till late.

P.s. Forgot to mention. The dancing is completely and utterly free, whether you have attended the classes or not.

Also for those driving in, plenty of free parking to be had around the City Hall (5 min walk from Culto) or even closer in adjacent Westgate St/Park St around the Millenium Stadium.

Shahid - On your web site you mention that Leann has passed her I.D.T.A. Examinations. The I.D.T.A have no record of her under this name - what is her Membership Number?? Also if she danced at the level of Intermediate Latin dancing - she could not have won any major titles - yet you say she has won too many to mention. A major title is called a Championship - perhaps you could name a few she has won??? We are I.D.T.A members and all of our pupils are technically I.D.T.A. Trained - but that does not make the pupils I.D.T.A members. I.D.T.A. Professional exam qualifications are amongst the most highly regarded in the world.

Perhaps Leann is professionally qualified with the I.D.T.A under a different name?

I can assure you everything is in order. Those that know Leann know her qualifications. I’ve seen them! I will get the full details for you to verify and get back to you as soon as possible. She is IDTA trained that’s for sure as stated and she has won the title in Hammersmith London that is also stated. She also has the passes mentioned with Presidents Award and Blue Ribbons, passing the IDTA exams in all the styles mentioned. Can you please give me your official IDTA email address so I can send you the details for verification. Failing that if there is a system whereby I can get an official statement of something from the IDTA verifying her exam passes and wins (thank you for mentioning they are amongst the most highly regarded in the world and rightly so!) then I will get hold of them and forward to you or put them up on the web.

Thank you for bringing this up. There are unfortunately a lot of people claiming titles and qualifications in this that and the other which are not even official be it amatuer titles or professional titles. It’s important for salsa students to know exactly what there teachers are qualified in (if anything) and have achieved rather than very over inflated statements. Altho to be fair a little artistic licence is pretty much the norm but some take it way too far!!! (p.s. No one in Cardiff or Bristol that I know of mind!). I’m talking worldwide.

As you say Steve being IDTA trained and passing there exams which are amongst the most hightly regarded in the world is one of the reasons I am very excited about having her teach and perform with me.

P.s. Any chance we can get you both together to do a Rumba or Samba peformance sometime at Culto? Am sure we would all love to see it! So beautiful to watch.

Please remember the Wednesday night referred to at the top of this post is no longer running. :-).
We don’t currently have any classes running on Sundays, but running weekend classes is amongst a lot of things that we at Salsa Buena get asked for a lot. We have a lot of stuff coming up that we have been inundated with requests from our many fans to do (we have got some great stuff lined up for you!), be patient with us... and watch this space!
