‘Let there be Love’
(For all you romantics, tonight is Valentines eve)
We have another great night planned tonight and it starts with Frank Santos and Celina Andre.
Frank and Celina will be giving an Improvers Salsa lesson before giving a lesson for which they are both Internationally recognised in Bachata. As Bachata is a hot Latin lovers dance and this being Valentines Eve, we have asked Frank and Celina to perform their new Bachata show later in the evening. This is one not to be missed!
Tim Heasman will be taking two Beginners lessons in the Somerdale room for all our budding Salseros before playing all your tunes in the Carter Room. Tim keeps the dance floor packed right up until we close and I am sure tonight will be no different.
If there are any ‘Newbies’ we will simultaneously hold two lessons for them in the chill out room which is behind the stage. These classes will be fun and aimed at the complete beginner.
One of the things we are pleased to support is that of budding teachers and DJ’s. Being fortunate enough to have two dance rooms allows us to do just this. This month Mikey Whitbread will be spinning his tunes in the Somerdale room after Tim finishes his lessons.Mikey is 24 years old and comes from Bridport. He started dancing Salsa in 2005 with a couple of his footballing friends to enhance their fitness and balance. As with many of us Mikey was soon hooked with Latin dance and its music. Having experimented with all styles including; Cuban, Cross-body, Cha Cha Cha, Bachata and Raggaeton, Mikey finds his heart lies in Bachata and Raggaeton and now listens to this more than any other.
It seemed appropriate with Frank and Celina head lining the evening that we offered more Bachata music to dance to and this gives Mikey the perfect opportunity to display his wears (so to speak!)
Come and give him your support as he plays a night of Bachata with a little Raggaeton and a touch of Salsa thrown in. Let us know what you think of Mikey’s music. After all, it is you who will decide whether he comes back or not!
Also be aware of the Somerdale room tonight as at some stage when Mikey is playing a couple of Raggaetton tracks, Kash Murray will be giving a Raggaeton lesson! Kash can move parts of her body in so many different directions at the same time it almost looks like contortion. Come and join her in this fun but very energetic class.
