Message 4 · 10 Dec 2008 23:59 GMT Hi John, Thanks for the kind comments. This has been asked of us many times, it’s just a matter of what’s gonna have to give to put that extra class in... i.e. Our venue timings as far as what time we can have them until can be a bit tight when we also like to allow time for social dancing and breaks between classes. But watch this space!!! :-) Also I think a lot of people don’t realise (our own fault!) that our improver classes are really improver/intermediate level classes. We have had a lot of people come to us from intermediate level elsewhere to find our improver classes more than useful. I would ask anyone of intermediate level who have not tried us before to give one of our ‘improver’ classes a go. When we do start adding classes of a next level up they would actually be intermediate/advanced. Hope to see ya soon. :-) Regards, Shahid. |

Message 8 · 19 Jan 2009 07:54 GMT Hi shahid I’ve just been reading your new proposal for the Monday night classes at the Conservative Club in Fairwater…When I said that you should try and get an extra class in your program for Intermediates I didn’t expect that you would increase you prices by another £5.00 for the same evening…. I believe that you aught to have a re-think on this subject. For those that don’t know the prices, They are: One class £5.00, Two Classes £6.00 and Three Classes £11.00 Sorry but everyway you look at it you’ve gone over board with your prices! I don’t know what others think, but I will defiantly NOT be there!! 3 hours of Salsa: £11.00. It’s a Noooooo…... Or have I got it mixed up again!! It’s your Christmas Party!!! Merry Christmas…… I might pay that if it were a Christmas dance with a Guest Teachers and that’s only a Maybe… Can’t say: C.U, Bye, bye…. |

Message 9 · 19 Jan 2009 12:00 GMT Hi John... Think there is some misunderstanding here. On Mondays starting February we are running 4 week courses in something different, which is after the regular classes, the first of these is a 4 week Bachata course which runs entirely separate to the beginners and improvers salsa classes. The course has to be booked in advance and no one can join the course once it has started. That’s standard stuff regards courses. On Tuesdays starting in Feb we do have a separate charge for the Int/Adv class and we have had a lot of interest and people planning to come along. The reason being is they have understood that the separate charge means we are serious about making the level of the class a proper intermediate/advanced class. We also find that a lot of intermediate/advanced level dancers are not really interested in coming along and doing beginner and improver level classes beforehand. In a lot of places where classes run concurrently they don’t even have that choice anyway. Bottom line is that it is just £5 (a bargain when you consider the time, number of people and costs involved) to do the intermediate/advanced class, and that’s completely in line with the price of a class... :-) Regards, Shahid. |

Message 10 · 19 Jan 2009 18:36 GMT Hi Shahid, thanks for the prompt reply. You state that these extra classes do not interfere with the other classes! Does that mean they are being held elsewhere in the Club, or will it eat into your client’s free Dancing time? I still think that you are overcharging for the extra class, further it is far above the norm…. taking into account others who give lessons from beginners through to Intermediate levels, each one at least one hour long class and are still only charging £6.00/Nus £5.00 (total) The Purple Lounge is one of them. You can say, like some folks. Yes, but I’m doing specialist classes. I would like to remind you that you’re only Teaching popular Latin Dancing and not anything that is particularly special... As for your other point: I would like to say that over the years, several very good teachers have encouraged myself and others to participate at all levels of Salsa, Beginners/Improvers and other specialist lessons, which has helped greatly toward the development of good all-round Salsa. You will find that students who get this support progress faster than the norm. |
