Hey All,

We have been running regular monthly Bachata/Rueda classes for a while now. Once a month our Monday/Tuesday improver class becomes a Bachata or Rueda class, open to anyone that has done some beginner salsa classes or have reached improver salsa level and above. We run through the basics for those that have not done any Bachata/Rueda before and also add new moves/routines monthly for those that want to learn new Rueda calls and Bachata routines.

This Tuesday the 8th of July the improver level class will be Bachata, this Monday the 7th of July the improver class will be Rueda.

Our Rueda classes are great fun, and our Bachata classes went down a storm at the Llandrindod Wells Salsa Weekender, they were extremely popular. Come check them out this Monday and Tuesday at the following venues :

Tuesday :

Pure Nightclub (formally Whispers)
Guildhall Place, Cardiff CF10 1EB.
(Between Westgate St and St Mary St, opposite China China).
Free parking on Park St accessible from Wood St and around the City Hall ie King Edward VII Avenue and City Hall Road. 5 minute walk.

Beginners : 7.30pm
Improvers : 8.30pm (8th July Bachata)

£5 for one class £6 for both.

Monday :

Fairwater Conservative Club
Ely Road, Cardiff, CF5 2BY.
(Just off Western Avenue).
Free private parking.

Beginners : 7pm
Improvers : 8pm (7th July Rueda)

£5 for one class £6 for both.

Ok folks... don’t forget tonight is Cardiff Bachata night! We have a LOT of people coming down for this, social dancing will also be extended (salsa and bachata music)... we can go on and on until you drop!!

Ok, it’s close to monthly Bachata/Rueda class time!

This Monday the 4th of August it’s the turn of Bachata night at our Monday venue in Fairwater. The improver class will be a Bachata class for all levels, followed by plenty of Bachata music to dance and practice too :

Mondays :
Fairwater Conservative Club :

(Just off Western Avenue).

Fully licensed bar.

Superb spacious wooden dancefloor.

Free private parking.

Beginners : 7pm (Beginners salsa)
Improvers : 8pm (Bachata for all levels Monday 4th Aug)

£5 for one class £6 for both.

Social dancing time after the classes.

The second Tuesday of the month (12th of Aug) the improver class will be Rueda (all levels). Will post a reminder closer to the time. The monthly classes rotate each month so it would be Rueda on first Monday of Sept and Bachata on the second Tuesday of Sept and so on.

Hi I would like to do bachata rueda with my group in ireland. I am looking for the timing of the dame uno please. Also the timing of the brinquito Thank you Fintan

Hi Fintan,

It looks to me you are referring to this relatively new (2003) fang dangled version of Bachata known as Bachata de Rueda, we don’t teach this and personally it seems to really take away the whole passion of Bachata... but hey... that’s just me, if it takes off and enough people ask for it we’ll teach it!!

Try searching on the net, there may be a few sites with video clips where you can see the breakdown and timing for the Dame Una done to Bachata music in Bachata Styleee... (goodness help us!)...

What next??? Lambada de Rueda? ;-)

Okay... due to numerous requests from the students at our Thursday classes we now also have monthly Bachata/Rueda classes on the last Thursday of each month. Thursday the 28th of August the improver class will be a Bachata class (for all levels), Beginners classes are unaffected. The last Thursday of September will be Rueda and so on.
