Fantastic! About bloody time ;-)

For those of you who have never been across the water to one of Steve’s nights, let me tell you they are fab!! Great fun and Steve is a fantastic DJ who really knows how to keep the dance floor busy. It will be good to have a later opening time and a variety of latin music too to cater to everyone’s tastes.

I wish I could make the opening night but I will be sunning myself in Barcelona so good luck with it, really hope it’s a success so there will be more that I might be able to make. It will be an incentive to travel back to Cardiff. :)

Hey Lisa,

Thanks for the vote of confidence! I’m really looking forward to coming back to Cardiff and it was great of Andy to invite me as it would be difficult to arrange otherewise.

I still remember the days when Cardiff was a regular Salsa night for me and the crowd there were great! Of course I still see some of those who pop in to our Bristol venue but hopefully now I’ll see a few more... Can’t wait I’m exciiiited!!!

I should add that Andy will be covering the Salsa section pretty much and my job will be to extend the night ‘til 2am with a more pro Latin Club set which will be called Barrio Beatz and will include some Salsa, but more of Salston, Reggaeton, 'R&B Bachata’ & other Latin Tarty Tunes and anything that will appeal to Clubbers!

I have to say for any one in any doubt about this night please do go, its was going to one of El Diablito nights in Bristol some 5 years ago on a Firday night at Aztec West ( great venue) that inspired me to take up Salsa and let it become a bit of an addiction. Having loved the music for to many years, I then got the courage to step on the Dance floor an not stopped, I might not be a great dancer but I just like to have fun and get lost in the moment.
I have to say I have been to many Salsa club nights all over the UK and europe and USA and Steves is still on of the best nigths out you can have.
If you want more he has a new night in Bristol at Platform 1 on the Whiteladies Road.
I made the effort to go over this week and had a great time good floor lovely people to dance with and some of the best tunes.
(I am not on the Steve pay roll by the way), just a committed Salsa person.
So go get your dancing shoes and plan to stay a bit later than you might, I know its a school night but one late night won’t bite.

GO & ENJOY!!!

Just one plea - if pure salsa is only going to be played until 11pm, can the free dancing please start on time at 10? The warm downs went on until around 10.25 last week.

Hey me,

I thought that was my name... I thought you were you!

However, to answer your worry at least from my perspective, there most likely won’t be a dramatic cut off point but a gradual shift toward Latin Club music which will include a percentage of Salsa/ Salsaton and which hopefully you’ll enjoy anyhow!

Of course what is played and for how long will largely be dependent on how many people are there and what type of crowd they are.

Of course there is a game plan for the night and it will shift as advertised but there is always a little room for manoeuvre

Well impressed with the night at Risa and a friendly receptive crowd... No surprise there!!

Anyway just wanted to thank everyone for making the return to Cardiff so welcoming, and the many people who stayed around to checkout the new addition to the SalsaRisa night... Hopefully everyone liked the balance of Music! Of course it’s early days but I really think the potential for a cracking two part night with Barrio Beatz complimenting Andy’s SalsaRisa is very much there...

Thanks once again guys... Hopefully see you next week!

Hi there everyone! I know I’ve missed the Barrio Beatz with el D. The other day (some would say ‘hip hip hooray’) but, did I miss anything or, is it a closely guarded secret? Who’s been, what was it like? Anyone for comments?.
