Salsa Celtica

Get your dancing shoes and let yourself go, the Memo welcomes back Salsa Celtica for an evening of sexy salsa grooves, snazzy jazzy horns, foxy fiddle and wicked vocals.

Once seen, never forgotten, their music gets into the blood and blasts away the boundaries that define where musical genres begin and end.

Salsa Celtica are an important name in the UK’s World Music scene, these days they need little introduction, their inspired eleven musicians drawn from countries as diverse as Venezuela, Ireland, Cuba and Scotland, have a well deserved reputation for fusing fiery, exuberant Latin rhythms with the whirl and skirl of Scottish folk music, from Inverness to Bogotá.

Recognised by audiences of folk, jazz and world music as a unique gathering of musicians from two very different musical cultures, Salsa Celtica stir up a storm by fusing Latin and Celtic sounds into a high-energy mix of unforgettable musical explorations, Scotland’s top party band, it’s all about the dance floor and the legendary and sparkling spontaneity of their live shows.
