Yep... from Wednesday August 29th we will be upstairs at No 10 nightclub every Wednesday, starting earlier and we have 3 great new classes! The launch night also happens to be my birthday (25 years old of course... ;-) ) so it would be great to see everyone for what will be not only the salsa party launch night but my birthday party night!

By changing to a Wednesday and bringing on board teachers Irene and Hugh we are now able to start earlier and offer 3 additional new salsa classes, mens and ladies styling/shines class/workshop, also learn to dance On 2 class/workshop! And a challenging Intermediate/Advanced class of a London/LA standard! What more could you want... :-)

7.30pm Beginners (Room 1) : Shahid and Lisa.

7.30pm Mens and Ladies Styling classes ( Room 2 ) for int/adv level dancers only (body isolation, rolls, hips, hands, shoulders etc and shines footwork class) : Irene and Hugh

8.15pm Improvers (Room 1 ) : Shahid and Lisa

8.15pm Beginners On 2 class (Room 2), you must be an int/adv dancer On 1 for this class : Irene and Hugh

9.00pm Int/Adv class (Room 1) : These will be more challenging and of a London/LA standard routines : Shahid and Lisa

From 9:45pm it’s dancing till late! :-)

Each class is £4, Beginners and Improvers can do their level classes for £4 for 1 £5 for both. Free entry for the dancing.

Please note on the launch night of 29th Aug only the Styling and On 2 classes are a drop in class, after that they will be a six week workshop, payable in advance, enabling Irene and Hugh to progress the level of those classes week by week. You must be an int/adv level dancer for the Styling and On 2 classes/workshops.

£25 for a 6 week workshop.

For those that know Irene they will also know she is a lovely teacher and one of the sexiest little movers (watch her Reggaeton!) around with a huge repartoire of fanastic shines. Her and Hugh are also one of the few people you will see out and about that can dance On 2. If I wasn’t teaching in the other room at the same time I would be doing there classes!

Hope to see you all there for classes and dancing in what promises to be a fantastic new night. :-)

All sounds Fab!

So are you saying that those doing both the intermediate/advanced classed will be paying £25.00 upfront for the 6 weeks on2 and £4.00 for your class?

Xx

Yes that’s correct Salsachick after Aug 29th... the Styling and On 2 classes will be a 6 week workshop, only available to those that have booked and paid in advance. All other classes are regular weekly drop in classes and are pay as you go... :-)

Sorry, WW, little confused,...
The Styling and On2 classes are a 6-week workshop and everything else is drop in class on the night?

Hi G,

On the launch night of Wed the 29th of Aug all classes (that’s including the Styling and On 2) are drop in classes. After Aug the 29th i.e. Starting from Wednesday the 5th of Sept only the Styling and On 2 classes will be 6 week workshops payable in advance.

Styling workshop is £25 per person for the 6 week course starting 5th Sept.

On 2 workshop is £25 per person for the 6 week course starting 5th Sept.

All other classes remain regular drop in classes.

The idea here is that if they so wish intermediate/advanced students can try out the Styling and On 2 classes on the launch night first before booking a 6 week workshop.

Hope that makes sense. :-)

Okay all just a reminder the launch night is almost upon us, Wed the 29th of Aug. We have a lot of people coming down for the classes and dancing. It’s going to be an awesome night! The club upstairs in nice and spacious, a good floor and we have air conditioning!

The downstairs bit that is Contis restaurant and is where the bar is located will also be cleared later in the evening, the music will be piped through to downstairs and onto the outside speakers... so feel free to also dance downstairs as well as upstairs and out the front on the piazza too if you so desire!!!

We can rock the entire joint to the sound of Salsa... :-)

We also have a lot of interest in the classes and workshops, the idea behind the new classes and workshops are so people have the opportunity to really progress their dancing beyond a normal intermediate level and to be able to hold their own on the dancefloor not just in Cardiff but in places where the standard of dance can be much higher e.g. In London and at Congresses/Weekenders.

Mens and Ladies Styling class - essential for standing out on the dancefloor, having the correct posture, moving your body to the rhythm, and having great footwork/shines. Salsa is not just about chucking moves together folks.

On 2 class - arguably the next big thing. They mostly only dance On 2 in places like New York. In London its almost 50/50 now and spreading fast with most people being able to do both. Don’t want to get left behind? Got to int/adv level and need a new challenge? Fed up of being asked ‘On 1 or On 2’ and only being able to say On 1? Then these classes are for you!

Int/Adv classes... challenging pure LA/London style and standard routines. Ladies and Gents... you want to do those leadable and exciting routines you see some of the pros doing? Broken down and explained step by step. These are the classes for you!!!

We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow and every Wednesday for a great salsa night. (Oh and did I mention its my Birthday on the launch night too? ). :-)

Hey! Just wanted to say, well done on last night!
The on2 class was challenging, but fun! And a good atmosphere all round.
Hopefully is the begining of a really good mid week salsa night.

Hi All!

Cheers Salsachick, a big thank you to everyone that came last night and made the launch night a huge success!!! A few teething troubles as with any new night, (such as overrunning of our class times! )... but nothing that won’t be addressed and sorted out. We had a great time last night, and are looking forward to it just getting better and better! Can’t wait for next Wed. :-)

Also, please remember that the On 2 and Styling classes are 6 week pay in advance workshops from next week the 5th of Sept. Please get in touch with Irene before next Wedneday to book yourself a place on the workshop.

Irene : 07877-375317

See you all next Wednesday!!!

I would really like to come to one of these classes, but last time I tried I couldn’t find the way in, and I felt like a real numpty walking up and down mill lane LOL. Has anyone else had this problem or is it just me. Is it possible to put a big sign on the door or something just for the duration of a class, because I know when I couldn’t find it I went around to Risa so as not to have a wasted journey. I have always lived in Cardiff but I don’t know mill lane at all.
