There will be a Special Salsa Night at O’Neill’s on July 16th including a live performance by PALENKE. Classes will be as normal until 21:00 followed by the band playing from 21:30 until 23:30. Tickets are available now, phone 07801658548 now for details, because numbers will be limited.
PALENKE are a very popular London-based band with a strong Colombian presence who can play a variety of styles including Cuban Salsa, Merengue, Lambada, Cumbia and Caribbean Reggae, and they are eminently danceable.
Opportunities to dance to live music in Cardiff are few and far between, so this is a great chance to do just that.

Nice one! I came across this band a few times when I was living in London and they are really good and yes unlike many live bands they are eminently danceable!

Thanks for bringing them to Cardiff... (we should all go and give them a great warm Welsh welcome!)... look forward to seeing them again. :-)

Absolutely! I rthink it’s fantastic they’re coming to Cardiff. I can’t get there til gone 10pm but I will definately be there.

I just tried the number and no one answered. There should be some other way of getting hold of the tickets. Who is promoting this? People always moan that not many people turn up to these events and wonder why. Good promotion is always the key to these events.

Palenke are amazing they played at the Grand Folke Stone weekend last year. So easy to dance to their music.

The main way of getting tickets is on the door at O’Neill’s on a Monday night. Obviously this isn’t much use to you as you are in Bristol. Best bet is probably to text Peter and ask him to get back to you.

Just to let everybody know that tickets for Palenke can now be purchased at O’Neill’s on a Monday night and from Charlotte or myself at the usual salsa nights around Cardiff during the next two weeks. You can contact Charlotte by phone or text on 07801 658548.
Price is £10 in advance or £12 on the night, including lessons.
A & A Dancewear will have a stall on the night so you can check out their dance shoes, clothing etc.
Stellan, either Charlotte or myself I will be at Bar Risa on Thursdays if you need tickets.

Thanks Pete, I am trying to see how many people I can get on board. It’s my birthday on the 16th so would be great to go and celebrate it there with lots of people. I’m sure I will go and bring as many people with me as I can. I will see you next Thursday for the tickets. Cheers!

That will be a nice way to celebrate your birthday Stellan I’m sure you will see lots of familiar faces there. Plus I amongst others will be able to wish you a Happy Birthday. I can’t wait I’m really looking forward to seeing Palenke, never seen them before.

Hi Pete, I think I’ll be going to Risa this Thursday, so I’ll probably buy a ticket... just need to check the calendar. I’m not sure I’ve met Pete, but I know who Charlotte is as we’ve danced a few times.
