Hi Conflict?
I thought I better clear up why I have chosen Wednesday and Tiger.
Monday night - I go to Andy’s Performance Class.
Tuesday Night - I am in college 7-9pm.
Wednesday Night - I do break Dancing class in town centre and don’t finish until 6.30.
Thursday - I work in Risa.
Friday - Most weekends I go to West Wales to visit my family.
As you can see I have a pretty full time-table, and don’t have any night other than a Wednesday to teach. And as I don’t finish my class until 6.30, I need somewhere close and central to be able to start on time.
Fortunately for dancers in Cardiff, there is salsa every weeknight. That does mean however that if someone like me wants to run another class, it will clash with someone elses. If I chose Tuesday, it would clash with Cuba, Monday with O’Neill’s.
Contrary to your belief that I could get another venue easily, venue managers are not as eager as you think to start a salsa night. I know this, after teaching in various venues around Cardiff for the last 4 years. Add to this the fact that my course only lasts 5 weeks, and there’s no chance. Que Pasa was approached - they refused. Cuba has a Brazilian night on a Wednesday. Zinc also were not intersted.
I teach salsa as a hobby, it’s not my main job. I have a full time day job, and don’t have time to go in search of a city centre venue that has enough space for the group, doesn’t have any other events that night and will allow us access for only 5 weeks. As it stands, we are very lucky that Tammi is generous enough to share the venue.
If anyone has a suitable suggestion for an alternative venue, I am happy to consider it.
