Did anyone try Que Pasa on Thursday? Was it any good, any more room on the floor?

I didn’t go but I heard it was very crowded - hardly surprising with the main dancefloor gone.

Gareth

It was very crowded indeed. I went in the improvers/intermediate class in the centre of thep pub and there was no room to turn at all. Disappointing really as I like the class otherwise.

Hi there,

I’ve had a few lessons and have also picked up salsa over time... I have a date on Thursday who I know likes a little fun and dance to salsa... I was thinking of going to Que Pasa (formerly The Toad) but have read very mixed reviews.

What do people think and do they know of anywhere else? For this Thursday I’m just interested in the free dance dancefloor (not a lesson) but after this week I would be very interesed in going to some lessons on Tuesday or Thursday.

I never realised this site existed... I think its great in getting salsa enthusiasts etc together... perhaps some of you can help me?

Best wishes

The crowd at Que Pasa tends to thin out over time, so if you want to go just for the dancing it may be better to go somewhere else for a drink first and get there about 10.30 or later when there might be room to dance.

There is salsa at the Great Western on Tuesday. I haven’t been there yet but many people enjoyed Manuel’s salsa night when he was at Callaghan’s.

Thanks for reply!

Anyone else please do leave me a message too!

What about Bar Cuba on a Thursday? I’ve been there many a time on Tuesdays and Saturdays better never on Thursdays. Any idea what happens there?

Que Pasa this Thursday!

Hi Folks I know that it was very busy last week so in an effort to alleviate the crowd we are restructuring the classes as follows:

Beginners 8-8:30pm - Only £2

2 Classes
Improvers 8:30-10pm
Intermediates 8:30-10pm
Both Classes £4

Free Dancing from 10pm-12am

We are currently talking to the venue to allow us to do a longer beginners class starting earlier and hopefully this will help us maintain the standard for the Inprovers and Intermediates classes.

Hi Kylie,

I went to Que Pasa last night and I hate to say it but I won’t be going back again... not only is there a lack of space now, the whole dynamic and atnosphere has changed and not for the better.

Also, as the venue is different things are run differently, for example, food is served til late. This proved very hazardous for the poor waiters/waitresses/bar staff who are carrying food and trays of drink through a crowded dance floor. I only danced a couple of times last night and got battered beyond belief.

Also, the drinks prices have gone up which is a problem as most people don’t buy many drinks anyway but are even more adverse to it now it’s so expensive. £1.70 for coke!!

It’s such a shame... I used to be the biggest fan of The Toad as well... Sadly, I spoke to a lot of people last night who said the same and I know a lot of the regulars won’t be venturing out again.

But I would still say give it a go and see for yourself... that’s just my opinion, some people still like it.

But on a more positive note, if u want to try pole dancing... there is a pole upstairs and a few ladies gave that a go much to the amusement of the punters downstairs! I tried and failed but it was a good laugh!

Lisa, how do you judge success or failure at pole dancing? ; )

... what I meant to say was, how do you fail at it?
