O’Neill’s is fantastic... the music is really good and although I’ve only being going two weeks now, I plan to make myself a regular... the atmosphere is friendly and even if you don’t have a dance partner, it doesn’t matter... I never stopped dancing on Monday albeit 2 numbers where I really needed a sit down because my feet got a good work-out... but it’s sooo much fun and everyone should give it a try :)

Does anyone know if Charlotte has classes anywhere else on Tues or Thurs?

carys

No, but Andy has classes on Tuesdays @ Cuba (which is bloody fantastic, no matter what level you’re at) and Thursdays @ Risa...

Charlotte does have a class on Tuesdays but it’s in Swansea. I’d agree with Carys - Andy’s teaching is great.

Where has everyone gone who normally goes to O’Neill’s on a Monday...??? The last two Mondays have been fairly quiet... where have all the men gone to dance with...??

Sssh, don’t tell anyone - it’s been really good lately for the men who do turn up!

What is O’Neill’s like to dance in? I’ve missed a couple of weeks due to illness and stuff, but I’m trying to get to tonight’s class. How much is it, ratios, temperature (I.e do they have aircon) etc? Would all be good if someone could let me know :D

Dai

Hi Arianwen,

The classes are £6. A few weeks ago the air con wasn’t working but I went there last week and it’s since been sorted. As far as ratios for the classes, they’re usually fairly even.

By the way I’ve read your comments under the ‘Refusing a dance’ thread. Yes when starting out it can be rather daunting dancing with someone of a higher level, but as someone once said to me it’s the best way to improve.

Good luck.

Hi again Arianwen,

Did you go to O’Neill’s last night?

I did go and I did enjoy it but I wasn’t able to stay too long, I got a phone call saying my parents wanted me home - which sucked as I was all ready to stay and dance after the class. The style was a lot more basic and didn’t work me quite as hard as Risa, But I found I learnt a lot about leading and following and stuff. Plus I was actually able to play the female part - I did get in a bit of a pickle at first though because for the first lesson I was being the man. It was a lot of fun. This Thursday I might try No.10 to see which class fits me better. I actually got some well fitting shoes this week which helped last night as well.
