Hiya Cardiffiens... Yesterday was the first day I have been to a latin dance lesson/freestyle club after almost 3 years and the first time in UK... It was fantastic, cool music and great bunch of people. Well, I was in a corner enjoying the steps and didn’t step into the dance floor for about 2 hrs and left home coz I wasn’t confident enough to step in... Probably I wll join the floor this Friday @ St Peter’s Rugby Club... Will see you all next Monday hopefully... Have fun... L8r - Siva

Yes, the music has definitely got better at O’Neill’s - I stayed much later than I planned to last night. Try ‘Que Pasa’ on Thursday and La Tasca on Saturday as well.

Hi everyone, the class at O’Neill’s is great, it has a wicked atmosphere and can get really crowded. The routines are brill, and the warm down at the end is fab. When I first started I used to leave at the end of the class, but now I end up staying that little bit later each week for dancing until 12.00am.

I can’t wait to go tonight, see you there guy’s.

Hi everyone! I have just found out that these classes go on! Is it ok to just join at any time!? And I take it you just pay on the day!? What is the overall age there as well!? So many questions sorry hehe!

Ages at O’Neill’s range from teens to sixties. If you’re an older beginner you’ll probably feel more comfortable at O’Neill’s than at some of the other salsa nights. If you’re young and cool - or going through a midlife crisis - you might prefer Bar Risa or Cuba. (Having said that, people of any age are made welcome at any of the nights in Cardiff.)

Hi Chengshee, yes you can join at anytime and you pay on the door as you go in. Tom is right the age differs at O’Neill’s but no matter what your age we all have a great time.

Hi, I’m thinking about going along to O’Neill’s and checking out the salsa class. I’m a complete novice and haven’t the foggiest on what to wear, can anyone advise, are trainers a good idea??
Thanks

Chelle

Oops its ok... no need for answers, I’ve just read frequently asked questions... and I don’t have flat leather soled shoes, going to be interesting...

Your shoes don’t have to be flat, just not too high to start with, and the soles don’t have to be leather, just not too rubbery and “grippy”. If anyone has any more dress advice, please put it in this thread.
