Message 1 · 21 Jan 2006 13:18 GMT Hey guys, I have been told that La Tasca isn’t on tonight and that is wont be on until Feb as its too quiet at the mo. I’ve checked Andy’s website and there is no mention of it on there so don’t know for definate but I do know a lot of people were planning on going tonight! It would be a shame if it is true as I love La Tasca but hey ho... apparently las iguanas is not gonna be running til feb as well. If anyone has any more info, please let us know as I would hate for a whole bunch of people to turn up tonight to be disappointed.! Its happened to me before, I’ve trecked all the way to Cardiff to find out its closed, lets not let that happen tonight please. Thanks!! Lisa |

Message 2 · 21 Jan 2006 14:10 GMT Thanks, Lisa. Please, promoters, let us know when you suspend/cancel a salsa night. Don’t just pack up without a word (as happened at Las Iguanas). It’s not enough to say, on the last night, “Oh, by the way, we won’t be open next week.” It’s bad for the reputation of salsa in Cardiff to have people turning up to empty bars and getting blank looks from the staff when they ask, “Isn’t salsa supposed to be on tonight?” |

Message 3 · 21 Jan 2006 14:23 GMT Whoever is spreading this rumor is telling porky pies. La Tasca is on every Saturday! A quick call to either me or the venue would clarify it... Andy Witt www.DancaLatina.com |

Message 5 · 21 Jan 2006 15:33 GMT Glad that’s cleared up. Nevertheless, events closing without a word is a problem. It’s because Lisa was bitten before that she was apprehensive. I can understand it might be a bit embarrassing for a promoter to admit that his event was not a success but, please, when it happens, just bite the bullet and let us know. And if anyone goes to a listed event and finds it’s not on, please tell me so I can delete the listing. |

Message 6 · 22 Jan 2006 18:20 GMT I wonder who started that rumour. Glad you made it, Lisa - it was good to dance with you. It certainly wasn’t “too quiet”... |

Message 9 · 22 Jan 2006 22:22 GMT Thank you Tom, it was lovely to dance with u too... and it certainly wasn’t too quiet, in fact I had the best night there I ever have. About the rumour, it wasn’t a rumour, it was a miscommunication and a misunderstanding on my part so I apologise. I was too quick to jump the gun, I did check with andy and he explained the situation and in fairness to him Hugh, he would always let his punters know if an event on that scale was closing. In this instance, it was not the promters fault. |

Message 10 · 22 Jan 2006 22:41 GMT It’s OK. I wasn’t picking on Andy. I was just taking the opportunity to make a general point. |
