Hi hugh, its now £4 at toad.
I see u didn’t update the classes page with this.
I think its still reasonable and a fair price increase seeing as other classes are £6. What does everyone else think?

Thanks, Tommy. I’ll change the listing.

I definitely think it’s reasonable. Even though the class can get overcrowded, Andy’s intermediate level teaching is better than anything else available in Cardiff.

I haven’t watched the beginners’ class, but Nathalie’s improvers class also looks very good.

And it’s still only £2 if you just come to dance.

Are you saying that the cost has risen or gone down?

Either way, I wonder if you guys realize just how good a deal you are getting over there in Cardiff. Recently I’ve been researching the cost of both Class & Club entry in various other Cities and even closer to home and I find that the norm is about £7 if you take two classes, which in fact most people do.

At SalsaMania we currently charge £6 / £5 Members / £4 NUS & Members who travel and £3 for Club entry only and even with fairly good numbers we still won’t be millionaires on the door take. Perhaps the reason is that our overheads are somewhat more than those at The Toad but even so they must be running a tight ship to keep the prices as keen as they are. Seriously folks you are getting an amazing deal at £4 if that is the price you are being asked to pay for two classes!

Although we have kept our prices at a £6 maximum for the past 2 – 3 years it is likely we’ll be raising them to a £7 maximum before the years end.

I cannot know how costly it is to run a night in Cardiff but Salsa is a notoriously expensive night to put on! To give you some insight into how expensive it can be without giving too much information away our wages bill is never less than £600

Let’s face it, four quid is a bargain. If you’re on the soft drinks, that’s a night out for a tenner. You’d easily pay £4 for entry into many of Cardiff’s other “fine” night spots.

It £4 which is an increase from £3 of £1. That’s for one class because beginners, intermediate and advanced are run concurrently and also includes the free dance after and yes I think it’s very reasonable, especially given the standard of teaching and people to practice with.

It still costs me more in Petrol to dance than the classes...
