Why does it say next to Callaghan’s “Final night 27 September 2005”? Are they closing the place?

As I have been writing before, I am coming to Cardiff on Tuesday October 11th and looking for a place to do dancing on Tuesday night. I have been reading here that Callaghan’s and Zync are good and Cuba maybe not so good? Does that leave me only with Zync?

At present it looks like 27 September will be the final night for salsa at Callaghan’s. I’ll phone the venue tonight or tomorrow to try to get a final confirmation.

It’s a pity, but Zync is good—for dancing, maybe not for classes.

Yes, I’ve just called the venue and tonight is the last night. Never mind, venues come and venues go. There’s still plenty of salsa in Cardiff.

Hello and thanks for the info! What time people usually go to Zync? How is Tasca like? It says “No social dancing after the classes” so are there any other places in Cardiff to dance salsa on Wednesday nights?

Aparantly, There’s a latin night, just dancing, no classes, started or starting on Wednesdays in The Toad. If anyone knows who’s running this, or goes tonight, please let us have the details.

I think Andy’s doing Wednesdays, but not sure of timings.

If I heard correctly last night, the Callaghan’s crowd are moving to the old Old Monk (whatever its now called) on Mondays. Clashing with John’s night at O’Neill’s, but following in his footsteps. Lets hope they’ve cleaned it up a bit since then - it used to be a grubby hole.

It is Andy who’s organising Wednesday in The Toad. I think it starts reasonably early (which doesn’t necessarily mean that anyone will turn up early, of course).

The Old Monk was disgusting, so I hope it’s improved.
