Hi I just wanted to say, I used to dance at Monkey in Swansea, and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in travelling further afield.

Tuesday nights from 7.30pm beginners class then intermediates upstairs in the funky Monkey Cafe on castle street in Swansea. Charlotte is the teacher and she’s very good, trevor DJ’s and he’s very good. There are alot of regular advanced people who go and can help you out and everyone is friendly. It costs £4 and then you can stay in until late, normally you would have to pay £2 to get in after 9 or 10 anyway. Oh and you can win prizes in raffle too - but I never did :<

The bar is nice and serves a good range of drinks, decor is fashionable now, used to be more grungy. Lights are low, windows get opened so it don’t get too hot... Its all very cosmopolitan and european now.

They play salsa and world/arabic/kinda music till late downstairs.

Ummm... its great really, but I had to stop going cos I have Taiji on Tuesdays - but I actually went in at 10.30pm this week after my class and just danced with about 6 ladies and it was really fun fun fun.

So, I advise you to try it!

I dunno but she is Welsh but sounds kinda Spanish, and teaches deaf people I think? That might be completely random and untrue though! She also dances as the partner of the teacher in O’Neill’s on a Monday? Might be unture too, cos I saw her there just the one time I went...
