Message 1 · 31 Aug 2005 23:19 GMT Hi, In an attempt to get into salsa again and improve more quickly I booked myself onto a salsa weekend away (woohoo!) I saw the flyer at O’Neill’s on a Monday and probably should have asked about it on here first but I really couldn’t be bothered. Its for a weekend in Torquay at the Victoria Hotel at the end of september... Salsa Party Weekend So all I know is that robert charlemagne is supposed to be a good teacher. I’m going on my own and just gonna throw myself in, as I’m a big fan of learning by flooding. Anyone else going? Or have any advice or anything to share? Tommy (I forgot my password) |

Message 2 · 1 Sep 2005 08:04 GMT I’m not going, but the Victoria Hotel weekend was strongly recommended to me by a woman whose judgement I’d trust, so you should have a good time. |

Message 4 · 1 Sep 2005 19:02 GMT There’s one coming up in from Cuba-UK in November at Buckland Hall, Brecon. If you mention Salsa Cardiff when you book, you will get a 10% discount. Tommy, you can recover your password here. |

Message 5 · 2 Sep 2005 08:08 GMT Lots of people from Cardiff also go to Pontins at Brean Sands in Somerset in December. The quality of the teaching is a bit variable (the best teachers there are great, some of the others aren’t) but you’ll have a good time. You might also like to try the day event in Bristol on 17 September. |

Message 6 · 8 Sep 2005 17:11 GMT Hi Hugh, That brecon thang looks cool, does everyone from cardiff turn up? And who else does? I’d be expecting some people from Swansea to as well and what about the rest of the UK? |

Message 7 · 28 Dec 2005 14:14 GMT The weekenders and there are loads not just in the UK but all over the world are easy to find out about in the UK they are mainly run by dance holidays, mambo city, cresidda, salsa UK. For international ones you can type in salsa congress and you should find them. http://www.dance-forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=4135&highlight=Annual+Sals a+Congresses+&+Events or http://www.salsapower.com/cities/worldevents.htm Personally I love weekenders. When I first started I did exactly what you are doing, I found out about a weekender and went to it alone, all excited, and I wasn’t disapointed either, I had a great time, and I hope you have a great time too. |
