Message 4 · 26 Jul 2005 10:16 GMT I think you need to clarify what you mean by ballroom style and how it differs from what you think of as salsa. The suggestion is that some styles of salsa are excluded from your competition. If the implication is that anyone who took part in or attended either of the previous competitions isn’t going to be interested (or welcome) in yours, then you may be in for a quiet evening. |

Message 5 · 28 Jul 2005 00:04 GMT I mean as you can just come along and dance your heart away! Feel free to dance your own style of steps, as long as it relates to latin music. Everyone is welcome! I am not excluing anyone. Please see it as a good thing, for people to come and enjoy themselves dancing the night away, and not treat it so harsh. Thanks, hope to see you there and hope you enter, you could be in with a chance of winning £200. Cheers Mike |

Message 6 · 28 Jul 2005 11:52 GMT The only judge that I’m interested in impressing is whatever woman I happen to be dancing with. Glad to see your response, but I think you need to do a bit of work to promote it, both to potential competitors and others. Given your initial comments, competitors might want to know who’s judging, what the format will be, will they be dancing to music of their choice or yours, etc. On top of this, there are loads of people who might be interested in coming, but don’t read this website. I haven’t been around much in the last few weeks, but haven’t seen or heard of any publicity at any of the salsa nights in Cardiff. Have you done flyers, spoken to the other promoters/teachers, announced the competition at other nights? I’d be worried if you’ve only publicised it here and at your own night. |

Message 10 · 3 Aug 2005 21:22 GMT Hang on... Tammi in a TEACHER! That’s bo*locks. How would people have reacted if Andy and Lucy entered and won. I have no doubt they would (they clearly are the best) but where’s the fairness in it? There was a very old posting “fantasy salsa championship” a couple years back (Hugh will do the honers of linking it I’m sure) Read that! |
