Message 1 · 6 Jun 2005 12:44 GMT Well what can I say, what an absolute waste of time!! I go every Sunday and this Sunday was quite frankly a joke... Admittedly there weren't any of the usual faces which was a shame as that left us with not a single decent male dancer! Well, maybe one or two. To be honest I think Andy should either stop teaching the intermediate class or put his foot down and tell the beginners to get out of the lesson! If they can't do it they shouldn't do it... Some of us are there to learn... Not to teach the guys how to do a cross body lead in an intermediate class! Or to be yanked around the room! Sorry for that little rant but it's really put me off going again. Bring back the regulars! Don't get me wrong, it's great that there were lots of new faces eager to learn, but not in the intermediates please. I hope it improves! |

Message 2 · 6 Jun 2005 16:09 GMT Hi babe, I think most of the regulars weren’t there on Sunday cos Nathalie had a birthday party in La Tasca on the Saturday night. I for one was so pissed I couldn’t even muster enough energy to get dressed to go to the Wharf on Sunday let alone dance :-). Seen ya last Tuesday in Bar Cuba, it was my first time there and I think the place is really jumping. Had a great time (Pissed again). I’m going to Edwards opening night tonight, might see you there. |

Message 6 · 8 Jun 2005 11:48 GMT Hope you had a good time at Cuba last night Passionate Salsera, the Tuesday that I went was a one off because I almost always have other commitments on Tuesday nights. I thought I had a good time on Saturday night and after speaking to a few people on Monday night I think I had a brilliant time! (Couldn't remember alot of it and the blanks were filled in by a few mates.) Lambada isn't really my thing but I did have a lot of fun and recommend this night to anyone who likes lambada. A lady's belt whom I was dancing with inexplicably become undone! (Must have done something right!) I got kneed in the nuts though and I think it was an accident :-) I'll probably go to Edwards again if I ever miss a Wharf night. Believe it or not there were more men than women and wine costs a lot more there. |

Message 7 · 8 Jun 2005 12:28 GMT Had a great time at Cuba thanks... It’s a shame u can’t make it Tuesdays. It’s such a great atmosphere... My fave out of all of them! I’ll try Lambada next week, particualrly if there are more men! Makes a nice change! Glad u had a good time Sat... Certainly sounds like u did! I’m not at the toad this week so I’ll prob see u at the wharf on Sunday? Have a good week! |

Message 8 · 9 Jun 2005 21:56 GMT Last time I was at the Wharf on a Sunday for the end of the improvers class about three weeks ago the beginners were told not to stay on for the intermediate class. I wasn't there this weekend gone though, I've been resting as I've injured my knee. (Nearly better now!) As someone who's only been doing this 2-3 months myself I don't feel that I would gain anything from staying on far beyond my level. I feel it would hurt my confidence and annoy other people I want to stay on good terms with because I might want to dance with them in future. It's one thing to go to the next level up and be challenged but quite another to skip a step. |

Message 9 · 10 Jun 2005 15:44 GMT Yeah, ur right, it was even invite only at one point and Andy normally makes it clear that it’s intermediate and beginners shouldn’t do it but I don’t know what happened this week. Never mind tho. |
