Everyone has the right to try to realise his vision of a salsa night if he wants to. There are only seven nights in a week so some overlap is inevitable. I remember I was very doubtful of the chances of Callaghan's succeeding on a Tuesday up against The Cuba Bar but it turns out they are both successful with different crowds so it's a net gain for salsa in Cardiff.

The notion that you can't have different promoters on different nights in a single venue does not bear examination. The venues would laugh in your face if you suggested it.

WIZZY

Cobblers!

I'm sure Andy Witt would not be impressed if I decided to teach Salsa in bar cuba on a Wednesday and maybe, whilst I was at it, the Toad could have a second salsa night taught by Rohan on Fridays...

Why should the venue's care - you're right - they only want to make money BUT IT IS UNETHICAL, RUDE and DAMN RIGHT INSULTING to the origional teacher who worked hard to establish their own little niche in cardiff.

Wizzy, does that mean you think Andy is being rude and insulting by starting a night in Newport on Monday when there was already a class that night?

Salsa in the Oz bar on Mondays has ended. I've just spoken to Michael on the phone and he told me the management cancelled his night yesterday with just a few hours notice.

Hello wizzy (nice name) I would just like to say, first of all John's night is not being poached by anyone! then second of all the party is on a Sunday night as sue g pointed out, also if you read carefully, it says for ONE NIGHT only?!
Check it out, its like this.
In March we hired out the top floor of o'neils, for a private party. I know one of the managers and he gave it to me for a good price. so from that party we have always liked it. it is a party for everyone, who loves the latin music. so that answers you - mr el diablito. The organisers of Callaghan's on Tuesdays is part of this party, everyone who goes to la tasca is coming, even the dj at the moment. And lets just put it this way about the history thing. ORIGINAL does not count. And it is always better when the people doing a latin/salsa/merengue night are from actual South America. Hope you do not feel like you will be back stabbing John, (coz he is welcome too) and come to the party. Thank you,
MIKEY P

Dear Wizzy I am very sorry that you misunderstood, what this people is trying to do (FIESTA LATINA) on the 19th of December, first of all: - this is for ONE NIGHT ONLY, - this is not to teach SALSA, is just to have fun, dancing SAMBA, RUMBA, BACHATA, CHA CHA CHA, VALLENATO, CUMBIA, BOLERO, POP LATINO, SPANISH POP, TAMBORES. ETC...
And like Mike said, there are several people involved, in this party. I believed you are invited, hope you could make it, and enjoy this, "ORIGINAL" ONE AND ONLY FIESTA LATINA FOR CHRISTMAS. X X X

Who can say, philji? If you are happy asking women to dance at your class you should be alright. The atmosphere is likely to be friendly.

Hey phil ji, dont worry about being new to the scene, in this party there will be many people there just wanting to have fun and dance, there will be many people who will love to dance with any one new. everyone will be friendly. hope to see you there.
