Sierra Maestra were a lot of fun, offering a crash course in traditional Cuban rhythms. They played for about 90 minutes, not including the interval. St David's hall is a nice place to see a band like this, the sound was excellent, if a little loud in the second half, and, as the stage is collapsible, there's room for a big dancing area with a nice wooden floor. The hall was not full, with space available even in the areas of the stalls and balcony that were open, but all there seemed to enjoy the performance.
