Jen

Hello,

I am totally confused and very annoyed at the list of classes advertised here. Last night after checking on here I went to the Grosvenor Casino, only to be told that it had been changed to a Monday night! That’s babysitter booking, time and cost totally wasted thank you very much.

Tonight I planned to go to Las Havanas. This time being more savvy I phoned the venue number only to be told guess what... its not on there any more and only there on Tuesdays!

I have since realised that I can click the name of the teacher and get to the actual teachers website that way, only to find even more conflicting information. Music Hall where I now plan to go tonight is not at the price advertised on this site. Their website says £7 and here it says £6. The Tuesday price is incorrect as well their website says its £5 and £6 but here it says £4 and £5!

I have just relocated here to Cardiff and as a single mum I don’t have the time and money to waste to turn up at places and find its not on there anymore or turn up and find the prices are not what I expected! I can’t be the only one that uses this site for the first time and expect the information given to be correct, we don’t all realise there is a forum to look at or a click to the teachers webiste on our first visit until its too late! I probably should have rung the numbers first to double check, but you don’t really expect such drastic errors, and I still am not sure whether its the teachers site that is incorrect or this one on the prices!

I can make multiple phone calls around everywhere and leave messages on phones and hope for a prompt reply as to whether or not the class is running and what the prices are. But just to be safe.

Can anyone using this forum tell me the correct prices for tonight at Music Hall. If it is on and running and not changed days or finished all together. I also plan to go to Tasca on Saturday, can anyone please confirm to me if this is on, if its still free to go there and if the times are correct. Thank you, it will save me a lot of time and money to know.

Jen.

I’m very sorry you were inconvenienced. I’ve fixed the errors you’ve pointed out.

Bit late to save me from my wasted journey and babysitter on Wednesday. But at least many others won’t get caught out now.

Have since been informed that it is 6 pounds at Milllenium Hall on Thursdays and that it is still running. But you have still got the Tuesday prices wrong for Live Lounge. Have been told its 5 pounds one class and 6 pounds for two and not the prices that you have listed on this website.

Also been told that La Tasca on Saturday is still running and that it is free.

Hope that helps you keep this site up to date and avoid others either turning up somewhere that is not running or turning up and finding the prices were not as expected. Finally think I am up on everything that IS running and what the proper prices and times and days are.

Looking forward to trying La Tasca this Saturday.

Hi Jen, yes it can be frustrating when info on websites isn’t up to date. I think that unfortunately you caught things at a bad time when there have been quite a few changes between the various promoters happening over the last few weeks partly due venue refurbishments etc.

Good to see that this has been on the whole updated, but just to let you know Hugh there are also a few other changes / additions that need to be made.

Charlotte’s Monday night at O’Neill’s finished a couple of months ago as the Music Room in O’Neill’s was being refurbished. However following the completion of the refurbishment work the night has now been re-launched in O’Neill’s on Wednesdays which are as follows:

Salsa - Beginners 7:30 - 8:10 (Single Class)
Salsa - Imp / Int 8:15 - 8:55 (Single Class)
Kizomba - All Levels 9:00 - 9:40 (2 Classes running in Parallel)
Dancing until late

Alternatively if you fancy something a bit different Andy also has his Zouk/Lambada classes on Wednesdays in 10 Feet Tall, which are as follows:

Zouk/Lambada Classes
7:30 - Beginners
8:30 - Advanced
Classes £6, dancing until 10pm

Further details are on the following link on Andy’s website

http://www.dancalatina.com/classes.html

Also Misael has Cuban Salsa classes on Sundays at Zync, which are as follows:

7:30 - Beginners
8:10 - Improvers/Intermediate
9:00 - Rueda
£5 - 1 Class £7 - 3 Classes

Dancing free of charge from 10:00 until late. The music afterwards is a bit more of a Latin mix, as well as Salsa there is also Bachata and more Kizomba and Reaggeton etc

Finally Jen, yes La Tasca is always on every Saturday, although it starts at 11:00 it can sometimes be a bit quiet for the first ½ hour or so, before things liven up later on and the atmosphere is great!

Hope this helps, have fun!
