My priority is that the people who do not know to dance learn and enjoy.
When we finished the classes we tried to dance with all so that they practice.
Saz sorry for security people but in next time, Can you speak with my?.

The salsa that we taught is Cuban style, and now everybody tries to imitate to us .

For my it is good since finally people can really dance the true salsa, bachata, guallando at the moment.
Now are 2 teacher Maria(Madrid) and my(Cuba), 4 dancers Eduardo(venezuela),Miguel-Angel(venezuela),Dacil(Canary island),Dimitra(Greece)
Sorry for my english.

Latinamerican in Wales

Hi Manuel,

Is there a Latinamerican Community in Wales?

If yes, I would be grateful for information.

I agree with you Hugh about Cuba Callaghans for all its faults is far better, I sorry to hear about the problem that Shaz had next time come and get one of us to help if one of the bouncers is being a prat.

Hey all,

Maybe this shows my age but I love Cuba because of the loud music and funky disco lights!!I think it definitely adds atmosphere.
I tried out the Toad 2 weeks ago for the first time. I found it similar to Callaghans - good dancing but zero atmosphere.

Regarding the age thing, at Cuba on a Tuesday there's a large mix of people, and a lot of Uni students go (maybe more so to socialise than to dance). Now that salsa classes are in Callaghans all the hardcore dancers go there and I generally find at places where there are mostly dancers (eg. the Toad), I feel really young! Hardcore salsa dancers in Cardiff seem to be 25 years upwards and I feel a little bit out of place in that respect as I am a li'l student and don't feel as if I have much in common with the rest of the dancers. That is not anybody's fault, merely an observation, though, like I said, there was a good mix of ages and dancers when it was only Cuba on Tuesdays and I met lots of people my own age then!

Thanks for the support about the security issue. I guess the problem is I wouldn't really know who to go to if I did have bouncer issues - I don't really know any of the people whose names have been listed! (though I'm sure I would by face) Also, I'm not sure how they would help? If management wants to throw me out for looking too young, isn't that at their discretion?

I hope your bouncer experience was a one-off, I've never heard of anyone else being hassled over age in any of the salsa venues before and, as I mentioned above, there's no legal reason to exclude anyone under eighteen who just wants to dance and drink pop.
