I've just received the brochure for this summer's Cardiff Festival, there are a few Latin acts appearing: on Saturday 3rd July at St David's Hall there's Omar Sosa, a latin-jazz pianist from Cuba, on Monday 19th July at St David's Hall there's Sierra Maestra, a traditional son band, also from Cuba, and on Sunday 1st August Caramelo Son return to Cardiff for the last night of the free "Big Weekend" at the Civic Centre. I wonder what they're like. I'll find out on Saturday at the Toucan Club.

More details of these shows are on the events page. Here's the Cardiff Festival website.

I've just had another look at the Cardiff Festival brochure and, although there's no Afro-cuban music in Windsor Place this year, on Friday 23rd July there are performances from La Bata, a Brazilian influenced dance act and Batanai Marimba, an African band based in Britain.
