Message 1 · 24 Jun 2003 00:19 GMT Couple of quick questions - can anyone tell me if there is room for free dancing at O'Neills while the classes are going on (don't want to wait until 10.30 for a dance); if not, how about Barry Island (and are people still going there now that O'Neills has started?) |

Edited by: hugh Message 2 · 24 Jun 2003 02:17 GMT There's no free dancing till after the classes, Tom, but you raise a very valid point with the no-dancing-till-10.30pm problem.
That's just too late. Especially on a weekday. I think the teachers are shooting themselves in the foot by letting the classes go on so late. I think the problem stems from the natural desire to wait until enough people have turned up before they start the first class of the evening, but this tends to push everything later.
I think they should resolve that all classes must finish at 10.00pm at the latest, to give people who can dance a chance to actually dance. I think it would make for a more vibrant and interesting salsa scene. |

Message 3 · 24 Jun 2003 10:25 GMT Dead right. I don't mind Thursday nights being late (as there's only Friday to worry about afterwards I'm usually one of the last to leave) but I don't want to be up until 1 on more than one weekday night. That's why Monday nights at Bar Med are popular - with free dancing starting at 9 - even though John's choice of music sometimes leaves something to be desired IMO. |

Message 4 · 6 Jul 2003 08:52 GMT Tom You can dance on the side at O'neils the room is huge and the music is left on in the back ground. Thano should also be joining the team from this week. should be a good night. BTW last week the class finished at ten. Lisa |

Message 6 · 24 Oct 2003 13:16 GMT Hi Tom (et al)! Just a little note on the Wednesday class at the Dolphin bar on Barry Island... There is lots of room for dancing on or around the dance floor. The class is with Kate - its excellent for beginners-improvers. Nicely busy but we need more men so come on down boys!!! K :-) |

Message 7 · 24 Oct 2003 16:18 GMT Doesn't Paul teach anymore anywhere on a Wednesday? His Thursday class was great, it's not the same now. |

Message 8 · 25 Oct 2003 02:19 GMT As far as I know, Paul is not teaching anywhere in the Cardiff area at present. If he starts up again I'll mention it on the listings page. |
