Salsa City forum now has an Atom headline syndication feed. The url is http://www.salsacity.com/forum/atom - there's another link at the bottom of the forum's front page.

For those of you that don't know what headline syndication is:

Headline syndication is a system that enables you to easily see when syndication-enabled websites are updated. It is used by major news sites like the BBC and The Guardian and almost every weblog. You use a "syndication aggregator" to subscribe to the feeds of the sites that interest you, so you can see in one place which sites have recently updated and the titles (and a short summary) of the articles.

You can have an aggregator either running on your own computer or you can register with a web based application like Bloglines.

For people new to syndication, I think Bloglines is the best option; try it out by subscribing to a few feeds (including Salsa City Forum, of course) and see what you think.

[If you click on the url of the feed above, all you see is a page of unformatted data. This is normal, an aggregator is needed to parse the data and put it into readable form.]

I see I've got a few more subscribers to my feed so I thought I'd bump this thread back to the top to say thanks to those who've subscribed. I hope, if this is your first try with headline syndication, you're finding it useful.

To everyone else, if you spend a lot of time at your computer, with access to the internet, and you like to use the web to get the latest news, syndication can save you a lot of time. I throughly recommend giving it a try.
