Hi Jemma,

Bristol and Bath have regular mass monthly events which are held on either Saturdays or Fridays and include special guest teachers, live bands etc. The last event in Bristol was two night event held on the Friday and Sunday which included a one off guest appearance and show by the current World Champions from Columbia!

Unfortunately sometimes these events overlap like they did in July, but by all accounts both events were well attended. When the Bristol event finished some real salsa freaks ended up going to Bath as well which was on until 3:00 am!

Details about both monthly events can be found here.

The Bristol monthly events are at the Fry Club in Keynsham: www.salsabristol.co.uk/

The Bath monthly events are at Claverton Rooms in Bath University: www.salseros.co.uk/

Just picking up on this note about events in Fry’s club and Claverton rooms, I went to both last month and I went to Fry’s for the first night, I like what the guys are trying to do with Fry’s they have a few USP’s but this is not what I went for, the music needs to be louder and better an odd mix of music that did not mix very well, they have some good toys they need to learn to use, dance floor is good but narrow and gets crowded very easily and because is an end on dance floor with not much space to the sides it hard to get on and off when faced with a wall of dancing people.
Have been to many many club night in the UK and and around the would have to rate this one in the top 5, great floor plenty of space, always great music, they had a live band ( often do)this night and always an excellent line up of teachers, lovely people to dance with, I was so pleased that I did not hang around at Fry’s and headed over to Bath. Bugger the costs
If their ever is a clash head to bath it wins hands down.
I am sure in time they will get it right at Fry’s and I am sure it will suit those who want a more standard night out rather than a full on night of dancing
But I would happily drive a long way to get to bah as it has provided plenty of lovely nights of dancing.
Try them both make your own choice its only my thoughts

Yes I agree with Red Man, The Claverton Rooms always wins hands down. Better sound, floor, space and music now they have Erik Bos DJing as well. I always have a great night there.
The next one is the 4th October.
