Hi Princess,

Sorry I’m not your knight shinning armor, but I will have a dance with you!

Don’t worry there are no hard feelings, it’s actually been rather funny and flattering. Thank you for your kind comments.

Yes it can be a bit daunting plucking up the courage to ask someone to dance, we’ve all been there and because Thursday nights at Risa is the biggest Salsa night in Cardiff it can be a rather intimidating, or you could look at it another way, it’s safety in numbers.

It took me months to build up confidence to regularly ask partners to dance. I just kept telling myself to be bold! If someone had told me when I started that I would eventually have enough confidence to be the only couple on the floor, in a big venue like Risa, I would not have believed them. The girl you saw me dancing with at the start last night is one of my regular dance partners.

Glad you feel inspired, that’s how the salsa scene works. I tend to see it as baton passing process, everyone helps everyone else.

Don’t be afraid ask me, I’m often around at many of the main city centre venues, so hope to see you on the dance floor soon for a boogie.

Good luck, have fun, be bold.

What a gent!!... excellent post and advise, I love the baton analogy

I’ll try to play the kind of music that helps the baton exchange process...
