As you may be aware the National Eisteddfod will be returning to Cardiff between August 2 - 9 this year. The Eisteddfod is the largest travelling arts festival in Europe and annually attracts 170,000 visitors. As I mentioned, in August the festival will be held in Cardiff, where Pontcanna Fields will be transformed into a cultural centre for the week. At the centre will be a 3,500 seater pavilion and scattered around will be several satellite pavilions offering a variety of entertainment including dance, literature, visual arts, exhibitions etc. Alongside these will also be situated over 300 trade stands - from crafts and book sellers to pretty well every cultural and voluntary organisation in Wales.
One of the main attractions to many is the Dance Pavilion - this will be the centre point to the many dance exhibitions and competitions that are held at the Eisteddfod. We are keen to invite local groups to participate and were wondering if one of the Cardiff Salsa groups would be interested in performing/exhibiting? The slots available are an hour long and we usually ask participating groups to fill from 25 - 40 minutes.
