Message 1 · 20 Feb 2004 07:04 GMT Just to Inform people that there may well be a salsa evening held on Sat 27th March. Initially - it will be a one off but if successful then will be held more regularly. It has been scheduled for this saturday to ensure it doesn't clash with Sulis / Claverton rooms.
Lessons will be taught by yours truely including absolute beginners, imp/inter, and finally an advanced at the level I did @ the Toad.
Watch this space for further develpoments.
By the way - went to Oneils on monday. Great atmosphere and nice to see so many old faces and mates, especially Frank R Green, Cathy, Bailamos, Barry and Pinky. |

Message 2 · 20 Feb 2004 07:49 GMT Yes, O'Neills is great and a huge improvement on the Monk (it's better than Bar Med was as well). Cardiff salsa seems to be back on track after a dodgy period over Xmas. Looking forward to the Saturday night. |

Message 6 · 1 Mar 2004 04:07 GMT The proposal has been put to David Lloyd, the premier leisure centre in Cardiff. They have a seperate function room (with bar) and safe and secure parking. I have also proposed putting on a light "snack" buffet and they may even throw in a "one-day" guest pass to use their gym / tennis courts / swimming pools in the £5 price of admission.
I work for David Lloyd as staff so I will not be making any money from this - it is just something I suggested as people are always after a saturday night and I have had some very kind complements about my teaching and people wanting me to do it again.
It would be lovely if people came along. If successful - they may do it monthly / bimonthly and have even suggested themselves (at another date) getting in a salsa band.
Remember - this is still in the PROPOSAL STAGES - I'll keep you posted. MARCH 27 IS NOT YET CONFIRMED |

Message 9 · 4 Mar 2004 09:07 GMT Hello Twink (+ others) Should certainly be confirmed by this weekend - I hope. But you know how busy us students are... Always drinking and eating pot noodle - makes organising things a real bugger! |

Message 10 · 5 Mar 2004 02:23 GMT Following on from yesterday’s message I can now confirm that Saturday 27th of March will be going ahead. Details will follow soon. This is an evening I am trying to organise for no other reason than I’ve heard people say they’d like a Saturday night in cardiff and other people have missed my teaching. If you offer your support and the evening is successful then they will be done again so basically I am doing this by people’s request. The cost will almost definately be a fiver. I am not making a penny from this so can’t afford to advertise it personally so please pass the word around to everyone. I will be teaching a beginners class, an imp/inter class and then one of my advanced style classes like in the Toad. |
