Hi everyone

I’ve had a few requests for details on where I buy my shoes, especially the red ones I wore on Thursday.

I have my shoes designed to my specification by Heavenly Dance Shoes - size, heel height, colour, material, strap style, sole, everything is made to order. They also add little extras for example a diamonte buckle or diamonte on the shoe itself. The red ones I wore on Thursday cost about £55 two years ago. You can get further details on
www.heavenlydanceshoes.com
But I have to be honest their website is not a reflection of their creativity.

If you call them with a prefered colour, they may send you fabric samples to choose from - but bear in mind there are literally hundred of fabrics when you consider all the different colours they come in. I love glitter, so I usually go for a soft glitter finish but they also have: Leather, satin, patent, suede, hard glitter, fake animal prints and more.

They are based in the London or Essex area somewhere, but you can find them at most Pontins and the UK Congress.

If anyone fancied my shoes, just let me know and I’ll bring them in, so can can copy the spec. I teach at Risa every Thursday with Andy and Steve.

Hi

I am looking for the practice shoes like Helen, Steve and some of the others wear in Bar Risa on a Thursday.

They are flat and black, and I have tried to search for them but I have had no luck. Please can someone tell me where I can buy a pair?

Thanks

Hi Rachel

I think you’re after Jazz shoes, I have some and they are fab!

You can normally get them in any good dance shoe shop, I know the one in Penarth sells them. One of the good brands is Bloch.

Happy searching.

Hi,

I also sell dance shoes myself, where I have an agreement with the company. Visit our shop at
http://www.flaminheels.com/Our-Shop.html.
I order once a month for our classes and get discounts for this, so I can usually get the shoes for £35, instead of £50+, in sizes 3 - 8. Anyone interested contact us at email: flaminheelssalsa@aol.com
Or tel: 01443 217924

Try this link for Jazz shoes.

Hope it helps.

Hi,
I recently bought a pair of shoes with smooth leather soles specifically for salsa, and after wearing them in Cuba last night, the soles are covered in black gunk and are no where near as smooth as they used to be. Does anyone have any tips on cleaning the soles of shoes?

Just wash the soles gently with warm water and an old cloth. Then leave them upside down to dry gently.

The moral of this story is: don’t wear your best shoes to Cuba. The floor in Cuba is the worst of the worst. Covered, after a few hours, with a delicate coating of spilt beer and broken glass. Don’t judge all salsa venues on the evidence of Cuba.
