Message 1 · 16 Jan 2004 05:33 GMT I called in at OTT last night, seeking a quick fix while waiting for The Toad to spring back into life. Attendance apparently varies a lot and yesterday was very quiet, so I didn't stay long.
While perhaps not a great draw for experienced dancers, espeically those not privileged to live in Wales' newest city, its probably a good place to start as a beginner. Dancefloor is in a separate room from the bar, so classes are relatively private, quiet and relaxed. Not sure about timings, but I think its £3 for everything. I've suggested to Tim and Debbie who run it that they post details here. |

Message 2 · 16 Jan 2004 05:40 GMT I also heard last night that there's a salsa class in Lisvane - anybody know anything about it? |

Message 3 · 23 Feb 2004 07:05 GMT More salsa in Newport...
Who dared to doubt that culture would bloom on attaining city status?
Sat 6th March, Carmela is running a beginners' workshop in St Paul's Church, Commercial St. 2-4pm, £5 carmelagian@tiscali.co.uk
I've also heard of another class starting up in Locke Street, Queen's Hill, but don't have any more details at the moment. |

Message 4 · 2 Mar 2004 14:02 GMT I think the lesson referred to is run by Ron Jones on a wed eve from 7:15 - have not attended so have no idea about levels etc. Also I have heard about classes in the Irish Club on a Monday eve - does anyone have more information about these - I would be delighted to hear more
Thanks. |

Message 5 · 3 Mar 2004 01:13 GMT I'd forgotten about the Irish club. That would be Tim and Debbie too, but the only details I can add is that I was told it attracted an older crowd than their class at OTT on Thursday. |
