Message 2 · 23 Jan 2007 17:50 GMT Hi Scary, The salsa scene in Cardiff is very friendly. I started on my own and I’m now so addicted I go a minimum of five times a week. |

Message 5 · 26 Jan 2007 16:27 GMT I haven’t been for ages because it starts too late for a midweek night. It tends to get very busy and smoky during college term times with a lot of non-dancers, but the last time I went there were some good dancers there as well. Like La Tasca it’s fun if you enjoy the challenge of dancing compactly in a restricted space. |

Message 6 · 26 Jan 2007 17:38 GMT Hi Greg, There are decent numbers due to the number of new starters. In recent weeks the improvers class has generally consisted of up to 1/3 of regulars that you will see at other venues. I’m slightly reluctant to say this, but there is usually a shortage regular male dancers meaning that many of the girls are left waiting to dance. So I try to dance with as many as I can. Hope this helps. |

Message 7 · 27 Jan 2007 14:12 GMT I’ve been going to Bar Cuba on Tuesdays now, for the last 4 weeks and I really enjoy the atmosphere in there. The classes finish around 10.45, then it’s social dancing till late. There is more dance space than La Tasca, which is nice. The DJ plays anything from Salsa to Reggaeton, and Merengue to Bachata. I think for a different type of Latin night compared to the rest in Cardiff, this is the best one for fun. |

Message 8 · 30 Jan 2007 16:10 GMT I was just wondering if anyone would like to be my dance partner one Tuesday evening at Bar Cuba as I am not to confident and need a little encouragement and help with some of the trickier moves. Any Takers? |

Message 9 · 30 Jan 2007 16:55 GMT Hi Fiona, I’m looking for a partner this evening and would be more than happy to dance with you. I still go to the beginners class but also stick around for the improvers. I’ve been dancing some time so will definitely be able to help with your moooves :-). I’ll wait outside at 8.25pm for you so that you know who I am. See ya later |

Message 10 · 19 Feb 2007 22:03 GMT I’d love to give Cuba a go also (that is bar Cuba as we are off to real Cuba in May) but I don’t think my hubby would be too pleased as he is on crutches still at the mo, & takes me 3 times a week now. Though he does have his knee op late next month, so perhaps he will be more obliging then lol. Still I can’t fault Andy’s classes at all him & his other teachers are superb, especially in Newport, because it’s a smaller class than Thursday’s so you learn much better, well I do lol. The room is quite big & they are so friendly & kind, even better when Lucy is there to. Sorry Andy I will expect a row lmao. Please give Newport a go, you will not regret it believe me. Jaki |
