Message 1 · 17 Dec 2006 08:28 GMT Hi. New to the Cardiff salsa scene. Went to Andy’s class on Thursday and really enjoyed it despite the very sticky floor downstairs at Risa. Just wondering if there’s any classes this week or are they finished for Christmas now and also when are they starting again at new year? Thanks a lot. |

Message 3 · 18 Dec 2006 16:00 GMT Hi Miriam. I’m new in Cardiff too, and I went to salsa class at Risa last week for first time. I know the floor was quite sticky, but I enjoyed a lot. I used to dance with latindance workshop at university in my country. When I arrived Cardiff a couple of weeks ago I started looking for salsa clubs in order to learn more salsa figures. I hope to go to Cuba tomorrow and take new salsa class. It’s nice to meet new salsa fans in this city. Best regards. |

Message 4 · 19 Dec 2006 00:28 GMT Hey I’ve been doing Salsa dancing at uni at really want to try dancing at bars now and was just wondering what Salsa dancing is like in Cardiff? I’m supposed to be going tomorrow night to Bar Cuba, kinda nervous though as I’ve only ever had lessons at uni so bringing my friend whos never danced it before. Do you think it will go alright? Also for future reference do many people go out to Cardiff on their own? |

Message 5 · 1 Jan 2007 13:17 GMT Toria Did you enjoy Bar Cuba in December? I found Bar Cuba a little small when I started salsa. Someone was always very helpful - I started without any salsa lessons - only tap As Paul said, We all have to start somewhere not knowing what we are doing with two left feet. Salsa’s really exploded since then - to various venues and TV have filmed it several times. I’ve found it really worth the trouble and as I said, the number and size of classes have continued to increase. David Draper. Kate James had a lovely beginners class - look out for her - probably Bar Risa close to the Stadium. I don’t know if she’s continued the ‘Bodywork Class’ - worth going to if she has. I always went out alone and central Cardiff has been very safe over six years. |
