Message 11 · 11 Feb 2004 10:50 GMT Well, having management on one's side is a great help to a salsa promoter but weekends can be problematic because venues often expect a greater return than salsa can provide. Having said that, it would be nice to have a civilized night out on a Saturday night. |

Message 13 · 12 Feb 2004 01:57 GMT Hi Guys,
Ok, I've been doing some discreet digging and this is the lowdown so far..
Saturdays are out as far as the main concert hall is concerned as it's too big a money maker to hand over to the salsa crowd who would be smaller in numbers & not heavy drinkers !?! However, there is a smaller function room upstairs with a bar which we could have on a Saturday nite, if your heart was set on it! (but much smaller dancefloor). The main concert hall could be available on the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Tues of the month or on some Wed nites. Also could be available Sat/Sun afternoons between 14.00 - 17.00. It is a members only club but i can side step the red tape of that by leasing the room out as a private function. When booking through me, we would also qualify for the much discounted room hire rate. It's a great venue with car parking & definitely worth a thought.... Hope this helps, over to you ;o) |

Message 14 · 12 Feb 2004 02:06 GMT Forgot to mention Friday nite's, You could hold a Salsa event one-off on a Friday nite (providing it is free on your chosen nite) and you could have the main concert hall which can hold in excess of 200 people. I notice from the listings that Friday isn't normally utilised for a Salsa venue so you're not stepping on any metatarsals! |
