Message 11 · 11 May 2005 11:56 GMT Welsh Lass, I stand with u in that Lecherous old men should be reprimanded! I know salsa is sexy, passionate and fun but maybe these men should read up on etiquette before dancing... most women dont like being groped by dirty men! In fact, I actually had to leave one class as no fewer than 3 men groped my breast every time we did one particular move... now either they were just trying to cop a feel at every opportunity or I just have very gropeable breasts! Seriously though, it is really off-putting and I'm sure I'm not the only female who has had this problem. |

Message 12 · 11 May 2005 12:16 GMT Maybe, as it happened in the same move each time, it really was accidental. But, of course, you would know. Sometimes I accidentally brush a breast, say, with the backs of my fingers. It happens. I just say "Oops!" and smile and carry on. Luckily, so far, no one has walked off or got cross or said anything, so they must have been convinced of my innocence. Touch wood. |

Message 14 · 12 May 2005 11:47 GMT Don't get me wrong... there are many accidental brushings etc which don't bother me but I do know the difference between accident and blatant! It wasn't a brush it was full on grope... grabbed a handful! But interestingly it only seemed to be these particular men that couldn't grasp the move! I watched many other men do it and they didn't have any problem at all. If the guys had apologised as if it were an accident I wouldn't have minded so much but they didn't and unfortunately me being me had to put them firmly in their place! |

Message 15 · 12 May 2005 11:55 GMT I'm amazed by this sort of behaviour from some guys. Doing this can't possibly get them anywhere (if y'know what I mean). It's a shame you had to leave the class and not them. |

Message 16 · 12 May 2005 16:20 GMT Passionate salsera, I've occasionally brushed certain areas of women I've danced with but that's cos I'm constantly pissed when I'm dancing. (Well it's my excuse and I'm sticking by it.) I would just like to know how old are 'Lecherous old men'? |

Message 17 · 12 May 2005 19:56 GMT Anyone who is old enough to know better Jeff!!! Although I would never distinguish between old, young or anyone in-between! Anybody lecherous gets short shrift from me - old/young, big/small, bald/hairy, gorgeous or not so! But I also totally take on board that accidents happen - especially with those of us who have protruding body parts. I usually find that when these happen the gentlemen are far more mortified than I am! |

Message 18 · 13 May 2005 11:47 GMT I agree it's almost always accidental and thats fine, and yes it's normally the men who are more mortified! But like Welsh Lass said the lecherous men come in all shapes, sizes and ages. It is a shame it happens but it is very rare... Fortunately most men are there to dance, which is great. There is one particular guy who I see all the time and he asks the women to dance and most of them say no... I now realise why! I danced with him at my first lesson and he was a complete sleaze but interestingly when I mentioned I worked for social services he ran a mile!! |
