Welsh Lass

Teachers (or others in the know!)
Most of you advertise your lessons with different start times for each level. Does this mean you expect the beginners to arrive at e.g. 7pm, improvers 8pm etc.
Or do you expect all committed pupils to attend all classes?
The reason I ask is that I have attended lessons in Cardiff for some years and have naturally progressed through the levels - surely this is a complement to you? Yet at my regular salsa haunt (some time ago) a rather pointed remark was made to those of us who had just turned up for the advanced class. (Are you really advanced? I hear you all cry.) Well in answer to that question - several leads who attended the previous class - on which part of the advanced class was built - could not do the routine so I was talking them through it, hence my indignation!!!
If you want your pupils to attend intermediate and advanced as you intend to build upon the intermediate routine then please make tht clear!
I'm afraid that one comment really struck a chord with me (and others!)

What was the remark, Welsh Lass? You don't have to say who said it.

I remember that night, I was in both class's (the routine was very hard), his remarks were a bit harsh. This teacher tell's it like it is, remember the night he told people not to break wind in his class!

Hi Welsh Lass, I presume that was my class and it was at the Toad. If I'm wrong then please let me know. :)

The class has only ever been advertised by me as an Intermediate class running from 8:30 to 10pm with a break in the middle. At no time has it been advertised as two seperate classes. I have reiterated this many times during the class.

I'm sorry if my frustration showed through and upset you, this was by no means my intention. However I do feel that it is unfair on students who pay to do the class from the beginning and then have to spend time waiting for others to catch up.

If this was a Sunday class then doing the previous class can be helpfull. However if you are doing the last class on it's own then you should be of a level to do the moves from the improvers class without needing to be taught them. That is the prerequsite for moving up the levels.

Again I appologise for my outburst and hope it doesn't put you off the classes in future. If I ever say anything in my classes that anybody feels is out of place or unfair then please talk to me about it. Sometimes things may come out of my mouth in a way that was not intended. The fart comment however was intended and unfortunately neccesary! :)

Good Heavens! Nobody farts on purpose! (John 8:1-11, King James Version)

I stand corrected - I thought there was 2 seperate classes! I am glad to say I was not there for the other afore mentioned incident! Just as well too! Would you also reprimand lecherous class participants?

WIZZY

Where ever you may be, let your Farts go free.
From Church or Chapel, let 'em RATTLE!!!!

Hugh - the bible bit... What has that got to do with Farting? Couldn't find it in the passage. Am I being a bit dense?

Although these verses don't deal with farting specifically, they do admonish us not to accuse and condemn others when we may be guilty of the same or similar crimes ourselves. The key passage is, "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."

Hope that helps.
