Is it better to dance earlier or later in the evening?
Does everyone line up - or do you ask people before hand?

Depends - normally you’d dance fairly early on in the free dancing. You need to get one of your friends to mention it to the DJ. Then everyone lines up (or you hope they do - it’s a bit embarrassing if nobody does... )

Hi Chris,
Birthday dances seem to be a regular feature at O’Neill’s, where the teacher or DJ announces who’s birthday it is and you dance for 20 to 30 seconds with a random line-up of partners.
