Just tried the Beat Counter.
Now I may have misunderstood the destructions BUT
The track I counted came in at 196BPM
According to the instruction this is 196 BARS per minute - I think not!

Is it me reading the description wrong or is the description itself wrong?

Obviously, 196 beats per minute is not 196 bars per minute. 196 beats per minute is 49 bars per minute, which sound about right for a fairly fast salsa track.

It’s easier to count bars, if you understand enough about the music to pick out the start of a bar.

If you want an offline beat counter, there are several listed here. Some of them will apparently count beats automatically, instead of you having to do it manually - so to get bars per minute you just divide by four.
